MP representative Mohd Tariq Khan was also present on the occasion. Congress leader Ayaz Guddu and city unit president Pramod Tandon also lauded the effort saying, “Such fairs are ample proof that communal harmony still exists in the society. People from all classes participate in the fair, which is a good sign.”

Among those present were former corporator Haji Jalla Patel, Vinay Bakliwal, Zilla Wakf Board secretary Mohanned Nasir Shah, BJP leader Haji Usman Patel, Youth Congress leader Annul Patel and others.

Earlier, Dargah Waqf Board Inti Jamia Committee’s Sardar Haji Ehsan Patel welcomed all the guests while former city Youth Congress secretary Abid Appu proposed the vote of thanks.

Mela coordinator Mohd Munnavar Shah said the fair would have the regular amusement attractions like every year. “It would have giant wheels, ‘Maruti Maut Ka Kuan’ and a hoard of stalls under ‘Meena Bazar’ selling stuff ranging from cosmetics, imitation jewellery and Chinese goods,” Shah said.
