Recruiting the kiddies into the kitchen to help isn't just about enlisting child labor, either. It's a way to let mom sleep in without a child nagging her about the whereabouts of a favorite sweater, or a request for chauffeur services.

Here's a selection of breakfast or brunch ideas for Mother's Day, many of which are kid-friendly recipes that require little cooking, or provide ample opportunities for the kids to get their hands dirty.

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

For moms with a sweet tooth, and families with little ones. This recipe also calls for a little pre-planning as it requires overnight refrigeration. Kiddies can get in on the action during the prep which calls for arranging day-old bread in a casserole dish, dotting it with cubes of cream cheese, and pouring an egg and syrup custard over the top. The casserole is then baked the next day and topped with a blueberry sauce.
