This was the third adjournment granted in the case by the court since filing of the bail plea last month.

Kodnani is accused in the Naroda Patiya and Naroda Gam cases in which 106 people were killed by a mob on February 28, 2002.

When the matter came up for hearing in the court of Judge A K Aswani on Thursday, Kodnani's lawyer requested time to obtain court orders in which other accused persons with similar charges have been given bail in 2002 riot cases.

The court granted request of Kodnani's lawyer after the public prosecutor too did not object to the request, and adjourned the matter till May 18.

Supreme court appointed special investigation team (SIT), probing some of the riot cases has filed chargesheet against Kodnani in connection with the Naroda Gam and Naroda Patiya cases early this month.
