Former senior vice-president of High Court Bar Association RK Shangloo expressed happiness over the appointment of Dr Kurien and said, “Dr Kurien is the greatest project manager of the country and along with AU Vice-Chancellor Prof RG Harshe, he would leave no stone unturned to revive the past glory and fame of the varsity”.

Allahabad University Teachers’ Association (AUTA-Y) president Yogeshwar Tiwari expressed his satisfaction over the appointment of Dr Kurien as the Chancellor and said that the varsity would definitely progress under the able guidance of such a great visionary like Dr Kurien whose achievements define his personality.

Zila Audyogik Sahkari Sangh Limited (ZASSL) hailed the appointment of Dr Kurien in a meeting held on Wednesday.

ZASSL president RP Singh Baghel said that the members welcomed the appointment of Dr Kurien and said that the students and teachers and the guardians would gain from the talent and decisions of Dr Kurien.
