L&T's Q3 orders grow 108 per cent on year

India's largest engineering and construction firm said that it had booked fresh orders worth Rs 73.97 billion.

Larsen & Toubro, India's largest engineering and construction company, said on Thursday it had booked fresh orders worth Rs 73.97 billion ($1.7 billion), up 108 per cent from a year earlier.

The company's orders for the first nine months of the fiscal year to March 2006 stood at Rs 162.11 billion, up 80 per cent from a year earlier.

The company said in a statement it expected the order book to grow about 50 per cent in the year to March 2006.
