SENIOR BJP leader and former UP minister Lalji Tandon lashed out at the Mulayam-led government for failing to curb crime and protect the farmers’ interest. The situation had deteriorated to such an extent that farmers were committing suicide after failing to pay off the loans.

He said that the rise in prices of essential commodities and other articles have broken the backbone of the farmers.
Tandon said this at the two-day working committee meeting of the BJP Kisan Morcha. The meet was inaugurated by BJP Kisan Morcha state presidentVinod Kumar Pandey.
Speaking on the occasion, Pandey said that it was for the first time in the history of the state that the farmer had taken such an extreme step as committing suicide. The situation was horrifying. Even after working hard, the farmers were not getting the price for his produce.
