Justin Langer and Matthew Hayden on Thursday became Australia's most prolific openers after their 17-run stand in the fourth and final Test against India in Mumbai.

The left-handed duo with 3896 runs overtook Michael Slater and Mark Taylor with 3887. Bill Lawry and Bob Simpson are the next best Australians on 3596, The Courier Mail said in a report.
