LDA Vice Chairman BB Singh took the decision after HT Lucknow Live highlighted and questioned the contentious move in its report on Tuesday. "We have decided to withdraw the offer because of unavoidable circumstances and a public notice in this connection has already been issued for the benefit of all," said Singh.

He said the move was prompted by an impression that was created in the media questioning both the timing as well as the rationale behind the proposed offer.

Here it is pertinent to mention that the LDA VC had already expressed his reservation over the lack of proper information in the advertisement that was put out by the department inviting applications from only those people who had applied beforehand under the scheme.
