Presidents of PDP's Jammu East and Nagrota zonal units Nagesh Sharma and Charan Dass respectively resigned from the party along with other office bearers.

They criticised the PDP leadership for "dividing the state on regional and religious lines in the wake of Amarnath land transfer row."

Party's Udhampur district, which had broke away from the party last week, joined the BJP on Friday.

So far, 17 leaders, including executive committee members, general secretary, provincial secretary, district presidents, zonal and block presidents had quit the party over Amarnath stand-off.
