The Leisure Valley Park, located in Sector 29, is fast losing its sheen. The footfall of over a thousand persons at the garden has started dropping due to apathy of the authorities.
The garden, which is built on 25 acres of land, is in pathetic condition as the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) is not taking steps to bring it back in original shape.
Garbage dump
If the Rs 73 lakh musical fountain is out of operation, most parts of the park are affected with garbage heaps. Besides, stray animals often barged into it, creating problems for visitors.
The place, which is also famous for hosting annual flower competition, has beautiful roses and acres of land for people to enjoy their morning and evening walks. But, it stinks due to waterlogging and poor condition of a toilet. Nobody bothers to clean the toilet.
"I am not aware of the issues related to the public conveniences and fountains. But, I will make sure these problems are sorted out soon," said VK Nirala, executive engineer, Huda.
The tracks in the park, which is known for its beauty, are broken at many places and the fencing is also not repaired since a long time. The broken path is a matter of concern for elderly people, who visit the park in the morning. The entrance is beautiful, but the water seen in the fountain pool is dirty. Though the gardener claim that it was cleaned twice a month, that is not visible.

{{/usCountry}}There are some good things too about the park. Swings are enjoyed by children and open area is used for playing football and badminton. The park has enough benches for the people and gives the fragrance of variety of roses.
Association formed
Two years back an association was made to keep a check on maintenance of the park and to monitor the speed of work. Besides, it was also decided to keep a check on the staff. Narayan Singh, president of the association, said, "We are happy with the work Huda is doing. Our problems are getting solved one by one."
A member of association said dog threat is also a matter of concern in the park as street dogs keep roaming and no one keeps a check on them.
RN Jakhar, a regular visitor, said, "The toilet in park is not operational and I do not think it's made to use as it's locked since long time."
Prakash, head gardener, said, "We are given enough machinery to maintain the park and in January we will be for sure winning a prize in Flower competition which will be in Delhi."
Mornings in the park are full of people of all ages enjoying their walks, but the broken path is a matter of concern.
Another problem the visitors are facing concern the people have is the non functional toilet and damaged tracks which are not letting them have leisure time.
