Lashkar-e-Taiba, the terror outfit whose hand is suspected in the Mumbai train blasts, had given training in Pakistan to several men who were caught in the past in Australia's anti-terrorism operations, a media report said on Thursday.
LeT, listed in Australia as a terrorist organisation in November 2003, is accused of training foreign nationals, including Australians, in terrorist techniques.
Willie Brigitte, the Frenchman in custody in Paris after being deported from Australia, allegedly received terrorist training in Pakistan with LeT.
Brigitte is accused of planning to bomb the national electricity network and military sites in Sydney.
Brigitte is also alleged to have had contact with Pakistan-born architect Faheem Khalid Lodhi, who was convicted last month on three charges of planning to bomb Australia's electricity grid, HMAS Penguin, Victoria Barracks and Holsworthy army base, The Age newspaper reported.
Sydney medical student Izhar-ul-Haque is awaiting trial accused of training with LeT in Pakistan, it added.
US officials have claimed that Australian Guantanamo Bay detainee David Hicks travelled to Pakistan to join LeT after converting to Islam, the report said.
It said Australian government had also claimed that Australian Mamdouh Habib, freed from Guantanamo Bay without being charged, was seen in a LeT training camp or having contact with LeT members several times between 1998 and 2000.
