According to police spokesman, some miscreants’ pelted stones on a police deployment at Nawakadal chowk on Sunday afternoon, the same area where Bashir Ahmad Bhat died after receiving bullet injuries during a clash on Wednesday evening, hours after the polls ended.

“The stone hit a nine-year-old Tanzeela, a resident of MR Gunj on her head,” said the spokesman.
The injured girl was shifted to SMHS hospital by a police party. The girl, a Class 3 student, received four stitches on her head. “She had gone out to fetch bread for her home at about 5:15 pm when the incident took place,” said the police spokesman.

The police have registered a case under Section 336, 147, 323 of the Ranbir Penal Code.

However, in north Kashmir’s Kunzar area, a shutdown was observed following the arrest of a youth.
