Lithuanians beat Americans in Olympic basketball
Lithuania defeated the United States 94-90 in an Olympic men's basketball preliminary round game on Saturday, only the fourth loss in 115 Olympic starts for the defending champions.
Sarunas Jasikevicius scored 28 points to spark Lithuania, which remained unbeaten at 4-0 and atop Group A.
The United States, which lost their Olympic opener to Puerto Rico, slid to 2-2 with a final round-robin game to play against winless Angola on Monday that will decide whether or not they reach the quarter-finals.
Richard Jefferson scored 20 points to pace the US team.
