The decision was taken after a meet between Municipal Commissioner Ram Bodh Maurya and Vishwas Khand Residents’ Welfare Association.

Residents presented their demands for the development of the colony by the LMC. The Municipal Commissioner responded with the claim that he would make it a model colony. He also demanded certain duties to be fulfilled by residents.

He said, “While roads, drains, nullahs, pavements, community centres, dustbins, street lights and entry points of the colony would be developed by the LMC, they must be maintained by the residents. It’s the duty of residents to maintain the street lights, prevent pavements, drains, parks and nullahs from encroachments. We can also provide shelters for cobblers, washermen who iron clothes and auto stands but the safety must be ensured by the residents.”

Maurya said, “Yaseenganj is also to be developed as model colony despite its image”.
