Lok Sabha approves Railway Budget

The Lok Sabha had last week passed the Vote on Account, the first of the 2-stage passage of the Railway Budget.

The Lok Sabha on Saturday approved the Railway Budget for 2006-07 with the passage of Demands for Grants for Railways without discussion.

Relevant appropriation bills for Demand for Grants for Railway expenditure for 2006-07 were also passed by voice vote after negating all the cut motions moved by various members.

The Lok Sabha had last week passed the Vote on Account, the first of the 2-stage passage of the Railway Budget.

In view of rescheduling of the current session, the House passed the Demands for Grants for Railways after adopting a motion for suspension of rules to enable its passage without discussion and voting.
