The police issued a lookout notice on Monday against Narayan Sai, who along with his father, self-styled godman Asaram, has been accused of rape and sexual harassment by two Surat-based sisters.
Sai has been missing since the complaint was filed on Sunday. He is believed to be hiding in Gujarat or Madhya Pradesh. Accused of raping a 16-year-old girl, Asaram is in Jodhpur central jail. The fresh case is one of several complaints that came against Asaram since he was booked for the rape of the minor.
The police also issued the lookout notice against Asaram’s wife Lakshmi and daughter Bharti, as they were named in the FIR for aiding in the crime.
“The notice has been issued to ensure that those named in the FIR are not able to escape,” said a police officer.
Help has been sought from forensic experts since the alleged incident took place almost a decade ago.
