Lord Bhikhu Parekh gets Sir Isaiah Berling Prize

Lord Bhikhu Parekh, now settled in the United Kingdom, has been awarded the prestigious Sir Isaiah Berling Prize for contribution to political studies.

Former vice chancellor of city's M S University Professor Lord Bhikhu Parekh, now settled in the United Kingdom, has been awarded the prestigious Sir Isaiah Berling Prize for life contribution to political studies by the Political Studies Association of United Kingdom.

"I was delighted to receive the honour," Parekh, who is in the city for past several days, told PTI here today.

The prize, awarded to him in December at UK, is named after Berlin who was the greatest political philosopher in 20th century and was known for his analysis on freedom, cultural pluralism and liberty.
