PDP patron and former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has said the coming Parliamentary elections will reflect the change against corruption and it would set the trend for forthcoming assembly elections.
"People's urge for change is gaining momentum. Joining of a large number of people in the PDP is an indication of a wave for change in the state," said Mufti in his address at a function to welcome Sher Singh and Aijaz Khan, two prominent leaders of National Conference from Reasi, who joined the PDP with their supporters.
The patron of People's Democratic Party (PDP), which is the principal opposition party, said people were fed up with the mis-governance and rampant corruption in the state and are waiting for an opportunity to give a befitting reply to this government.
"The PDP is seeking mandate to change destiny of people of J&K and the coming Lok Sabha elections is an opportunity to channelise anger of people against this government," Mufti said.
Reiterating his resolve to solve problems of all sections of society, Mufti said during its tenure, the PDP-led regime had proved its ability to change destiny of common masses by treating all individuals equally and providing equal opportunities of development and growth to all sections of society.

{{/usCountry}}"Although we had just 16 members in the assembly, we provided good governance to the people by streamlining functioning of all the wings of the government," he said.
Mufti said it was only during the PDP-led regime that governance consciousness was generated among people of the state and the common masses had a taste of good governance.
He added that there was a widespread public recognition of the fact that the credible leadership and pro-people agenda of the PDP had positively transformed the state's political, economic and developmental landscape.
"The process of the state's political and economic transformation started by the PDP-led coalition government in 2002 has to be now taken to the logical conclusion because the present regime has miserably failed to carry forward this process," said Mufti.
