Red and Yellow combination is bad. But I think one of the two colours should be retained, as it is a general norm all over the world to have orangish red or dark yellow on roads and sides of roads. This has scientific basis as both these colours have best visibility among all colours in high or low visibility conditions like fog, rain, dusk and dawn, dust storm etc.

Aesthetically, it is not appealing. It's true that it strikes a lot to eyes. But I think from road safety point of view, it's logical as both the colours have very high visibility.
