Police on late Wednesday arrested a person on charges of unlawful religious conversion at Talwada Bujurg village, under Anjad police station limits. Later, he was produced before a court, which granted him bail.
Station house officer (SHO) Anjad, BR Verma said Suresh Singh Chouhan was arrested under Anti-conversion Law on the basis of a complaint made by Manish Prajapati, a resident of Anjad. The police said they were also looking out for the pastor who was behind the conversion, he added.
Police said Chouhan, a protestant Christian, was 'inducing' 50 persons gathered in Sangvikheda area of Talwada Bujurg village to accept Christianity.
He told them that if they accept Christianity, Jesus will protect them from diseases and they will get food, clothes and education for their children, said police.
