Former underworld don Arun Gawli, who is contesting as Akhil Bharatiya Sena candidate from Chinchpokli assembly constituency, on Wednesday cast his vote for Maharashtra Assembly polls.

Dressed in his traditional white, Gawli reached the polling booth near his 'Dagdi Chawl' residence to cast his vote, much to the surprise of his opponents.
He had refrained from exercising his franchise in the recent Lok Sabha polls apprehending threat to his life and had remained inside his citadel, Dagdi Chawl, expressing fear of a possible encounter.
His party, ABS has fielded 20 candidates in the assembly polls this year.
Gawli is pitted against Madhu Chavan (INC), Ramnath Prasanth Tripathi (BJP), Ansari Mohammed Ayub (SP), Hyat Ahmed Ansari JD, Suryabali Chauhan (BSP) and Dongre Deepak Sitaram, an independent from Chinchkpokli constituency.
