Deshmukh is expected to make a statement after the crucial meeting ends.

The meeting assumes significance in view of BJP leader LK Advani's visit to the city and the BJP blaming "soft anti-terror" policy of the UPA government at the Centre.

Meanwhile, Sena chief Bal Thackeray has blamed Mumbai police and intelligence machinery for the blasts.

Leaders who are attending the meeting included BJP leaders Nitin Gadkari and former Home Minister Gopinath Munde.
