The Court directed district judges to maintain a register mentioning details of the lawyers practising in the district courts of the State. This register shall be prepared under the supervision and control of the district judges or any additional district judge authorised by the district judge.

“Similarly, a similar register shall also be maintained in the High Court containing all requisite details regarding the lawyers practising in the High Court”, the court directed.

The court said that each and every practising advocate shall furnish required details about himself by means of an application and such details would include residential address, police station, postal address and telephone number etc.

The district judge shall maintain complete record on the basis of such records, submitted by the advocates as postulated in the amendment made in relevant rules.
