In a major haul of arms of ULFA, the police on Saturday seized 27 AK-56 rifles and a huge quantity of ammunition in upper Assam's Tinsukia district.

The rifles and the ammunition were hidden inside a rice granary at Sadiya, the police said.

Following a tip off, the police in neighbouring Dibrugarh district launched a joint operation with their counterpart in Tinsukia this morning and recovered the arms and ammunition.
