Health officials on Thursday said seven patients mostly children are admitted to a government hospital in Teliamura. Hospital in-charge Dr P.K. Majumder said six are suffering from malaria and one contacted Diarrhoea.

Chikanti Reang (18 months) and Sabirung Reang (2) died of malaria without any medical facility on Wednesday at their respective home at Bilaiham. The toll has touched four in past four days.

The patients are mostly children and condition of few is stated to be critical. Balendra Reang (6), Ranbati Reang (2), Chichakati Reang (6), Bhogonti Reang (3), John Kumar Reang (18 months), Feliar Reang (5) and Sabita Reang (28) are all from Bilaiham.

As the situation turned grave in the area the health department is reluctant to send health teams to Bilaiham and other vulnerable areas. Sources said tension and anxiety grips tribals in remote areas as they fear of outbreak of the diseases.
