An assistant engineer, who was seriously injured in a grenade attack by militants in Batamaloo area, succumbed to his injuries early on Tuesday morning.
The engineer and two policemen were injured when militants hurled a grenade towards the police personnel, belonging to traffic wing near the fire brigade headquarters at around 7.25pm on Monday night.

Assistant Engineer Showkat Ali Khan had received splinter injuries in the head.
