A 21-year-old woman was allegedly strangulated to death by her husband over dowry in Gurgaon on Monday, the police said.
The victim identified as Archna married the accused Amit, 24, two years ago. According to the police, Amit killed Archna on Monday afternoon, while he was going to drop her to his parents' home in Sujawas area here from Delhi. He strangled her near Ghata Hills area. To misguide the police, Amit brought her to the AIIMS, where she was declared brought dead.
"The accused is a resident of Jaunpur in Delhi. The victim's sister is married to the accused's elder brother. Her family had given a car to his brother on his marriage. Amit, too, was demanding a car from Archna's parents. As her family could not meet his demand, he killed her," said a police official.
