A man was sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court in Mainpuri for raping and murdering a six-year-old girl last year.

A man was sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court in Mainpuri for raping and murdering a six-year-old girl last year.

The girl was raped and murdered by Jaswant Singh in Santpur village in Kotwali area on October 10, 2010 following which an FIR was lodged by her father, Gulab Singh, against the accused.

Additional District and Session's Judge Lallu Singh on Wednesday held Jaswant Singh guilty and also imposed a fine of RS 50,000 on him.
