The decision to set up CRAPDB was taken during a recent cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister O Ibobi Singh, sources said adding that Chief Secretary D S Poonia would be the chairman of the committee.

They said the CRAPDB would study the district boundaries as well as jurisdictions of the police stations before submitting the report to the government.

CRAPDB would submit its report within three months from the day it started functioning, sources said.

Other members of the committee include the DGP, principal secretary (rural development), commissioner (home), commissioner (revenue) and commissioner (hills).

Different organisations have been demanding the conversion of Kuki-majority Sadar Hills area in Senapati district and Meitei-majority Jiribam sub-division in Imphal East district into full-fledged revenue districts.
