Top leaders of DMK led Democratic Progressive Alliance in Tamil Nadu, barring DMK President M Karunanidhi, were conspicous by their absence from an election rally addressed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi here tonight.

While the top brass of DMK, including its General Secretary K Anbazhagan and Deputy General Secretary MK Stalin were present, PMK leader Dr S Ramadoss and MDMK Chief Vaiko were not present.
Instead they were represented by PMK President GK Mani and MDMK student wing leader Sabapathy Mohan.
Even these leaders were not accommodated in the stage.
CPI(M) was represented by its Tamil Nadu Secretary N Varadarajan and CPI by its state secretary R Nallakannu.
PMK and MDMK sources said their leaders were busy in campaigning for their party candidates at Pondichery and Sivakasi respectively.
