A suspected Maoist cadre was arrested on Tuesday from his home at Beldanga in Murshidabad district.
"Acting on a tip-off, a Maoist cadre Kandip Sarkar was arrested from his residence at Charmahula village early today. A gun and some Maoist literature was seized from him," Additional Superintendent of Police Deep Narayan Goswami told PTI.

The 23-year-old Maoist cadre would be produced before a local court later in the day, the police said.
