Ending speculation of being kidnapped, the budding singer and winner of a television music reality show Sonia Sharma has posted a video on Youtube claiming to have got married in Gurgaon.
In the 43-second video posted on Monday night, Sonia, who was seen dressed up as a bride, introduces herself as the wife of Raman Kapoor and appealed her family to wish her a happy married life.
The video went viral on the Internet and it had more than 700 hits by 7pm on Tuesday.
Sonia had disappeared from her hometown Pehowa in Kurukshetra district and her family had alleged a foul play behind it.
Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Naveen Sehgal told Hindustan Times on Tuesday that they had received a call from Sonia. She clarified that she was safe and was not kidnapped.
“She has mailed her marriage certificates and other documentary evidences to prove herself as major,” the DSP said.
Contrary to Sonia's claims of being a major, her family had a submitted a certificate to the police issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in which she was stated to be born on March 19, 1999.

If the case is so, Sonia is just 14-year-old and cannot marry. “In fact it was on the basis of the same certificate, a kidnapping case was registered on Monday. We are still investigating the matter and final call be taken after verifying the documents of both the parties.
Sonia's family did not approach the police on Tuesday,” said the DSP.
Sonia's brother Sanjeev Sharma and a complainant in the case remained inaccessible as his mobile phone was switched off.
Sonia rose to fame after she won Voice of India-Chhote Ustad show aired on Star TV in 2009.
According to the media reports, Sonia's “husband” Raman Kapoor is an orchestra player in singer Mika Singh's musical troupe.
