Maruti, Hyundai raise car prices from Feb

India's largest carmaker on Wednesday increased prices of almost all its cars by an average 1.5% to offset adverse currency fluctuations that has made import of components expensive.
The increase ranges between Rs. 2,500 for the entry level M800 and Omni to Rs. 23,000 for the cargo version of Eeco.
There is no change in the prices of its premium imported models like Kizashi and SUV Grand Vitara.
Prices of the Alto 800, the largest selling car in India for eight years, will go up by Rs. 5,500 on Thursday morning while its peppier K10 version will be dearer by Rs. 4,500.
The Swift and Dzire prices have been hiked by Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor India will increase prices of its vehicles by up to Rs. 20,000 across all models by February 1.
The company sells a range of vehicles starting from the entry level hatchback Eon priced at Rs. 2.77 lakh- Rs. 3.83 lakh to luxury SUV Santa Fe tagged at Rs. 22.61 lakh-Rs. 25.63 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
