"RJD is a secular party. Then how come some elected members of RJD support a party like BJP in Andaman?" asked KN Singh, the leader of the group.

Singh told that he had resigned from the RJD alongwith his 98 supporters to show their resentment against the party's support to the BJP in Andaman.

"Surprisingly, this has been done with the permission of local RJD president and we oppose that," he said.

A meeting was held by these rebel party workers in Port Blair late on Thursday night to discuss future strategies.

"We are going to form a regional secular party and its name would be decided later," he added.

Sources said the rebel leader was earlier charged with anti-party activities by other senior leaders of RJDs local unit and presently PR Ganeshan, president of Andaman RJD is in New Delhi, to meet RJD president Lalu Prasad and complain about Singh's activities.
