BAHUJAN SAMAJ Party (BSP) supreme, Mayawati will arrive here with the urn containing the ashes of Kanshi Ram on October 18.
According to the BSP leaders, Mayawati will address a public meeting in Ambedkar Maidan.
After addressing the party workers here on October 18, she will visit the Prerna Kendra located on Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg.
After attending a condolence meeting there, she will place the urn in the Kendra.
BSP’s national general secretary Naseemuddin Siddiqui, in a letter to the State Election Commission, has requested for permission to organise rally, do wall writing, install cut-outs of the Bahujan Samaj Party leaders and put the banners and flags of the party.
Joint Election Commissioner PC Gupta said permission had been granted to the BSP.
“Since the model code of conduct is in force, the BSP leaders have been directed to ensure that only those programme are organised for which permission was sought,” he said .
All the programme should be limited to paying homage to the Bahujan Samaj Part founder, he said.
