Subash Shastri, NMC president, while speaking during a series of meetings of NMC activists at Jammu city and Vijaypur, has appealed to the above-said authorities to take the decision at the next cabinet meeting as the union cabinet has released the same installment to its employees and pensioners recently.

Shastri added that the salaried class was facing lot of hardships due to high inflation and price rise and the early release of DA would be genuine measure to provide some relief to employees and pensioners.

He added that the delay in the release of DA installment would not only put financial burden on the state exchequer to liquidate the arrears, but also increase the difficulties for the employees and pensioners.

Stressing the need on formulation of a national pay policy, Shastri also demanded setting up of the 7th pay commission, which would cover both central and state government employees and pensioners.

An early amendment in SRO 64, removal of all pay anomalies of clerical cadre, regularisation of services of all daily rated workers working in various government departments, besides increase in their emoluments to `10,000 per month, immediate release of third installment of the 6th pay commission arrears, release of all pending wages of daily wagers working in the Samba division of the R&B department and enhancement of medical allowance to `1,000 per month were other demands highlighted in the meetings.
