A team of Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) officials on Saturday visited DLF City Phase-4 drain which has been posing health hazard for the public. Led by in-charge of sanitation Aruna Sangwan, the team inspected the site.
According to the team members, the drain does not fall under the jurisdiction of the MCG and it may be under Huda’s ownership.
“Huda officials have promised us to look into the issue and do the needful,” added Sangwan.
Meanwhile, Huda administrator Praveen Kumar has asked Haridatt Sharma, executive engineer, to clear the sewage. He appealed the forest department to support its efforts to clean the drain.
“I have asked the forest department to support our efforts to improve the drain’s condition,” said the Huda administrator.
Although the drain has been causing public inconvenience and polluting groundwater, due to ambiguity over the ownership of land, the cleaning process has not been initiated so far.
However, on Thursday, Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon had stated that the civic body could issue a notice to any person or agency concerned for not maintaining the drain properly.

While forest department officials failed to check encroachments on their land, Huda officials have failed to ensure flow of water through the drain.
