MCI recognises 9 courses of GMC, Srinagar

The Medical Council of India has given recognition to nine postgraduate courses to be run in Government Medical College, Srinagar, J&K?s Health and Medical Education Minister Mangat Ram Sharma said on Monday.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has given recognition to nine postgraduate courses to be run in Government Medical College, Srinagar, J&K’s Health and Medical Education Minister Mangat Ram Sharma said on Monday.

The courses include anatomy, bio-chemistry, forensic medicine, microbiology, pharmacology, physiology, radio-therapy, psychiatry and dermatology.

The institute also removed the deficiencies of faculty in the departments of pathology, orthopaedics and anatomy, which were noticed by the MCI, Sharma said adding the council has been requested to depute its inspection team afresh for recognition of PG courses in these courses as well.
