Six of 22 crew members of a merchant navy vessel were rescued after the ship dashed against rocks off Karwar coast in Karnataka early Tuesday morning, Coast Guard officials said.

"MV Ocean Saraya," a Singapore-based ship, hit the rocks due to rough sea conditions. Six of the crew members have been rescued and operations are on to rescue the others, they said.
Helicopters have also been pressed into service, the officials added.
