An earthquake of slight intensity struck the Kutch region of Gujarat in the wee hours on Saturday.

The quake, measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale, was epicentred at 23.7 degrees north and 70.0 degrees east, the Meteorological department said.

The temblor was felt at 2.49 am. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualty.
