FATHER OF white revolution in India, Padma Shri Dr Verghese Kurien, popularly known as Milkman of India, visited College of Food and Dairy Technology, at the Allahabad Agricultural Institute- Deemed University (AAI-DU) on Monday.

FATHER OF white revolution  in India, Padma Shri Dr Verghese Kurien, popularly known as Milkman of  India, visited College of Food and Dairy Technology, at the  Allahabad Agricultural Institute- Deemed University (AAI-DU) on Monday.

Accompanied with his wife M Kurein, Dr Verghese Kurein   was  welcomed by Dr Mani Jacob,  Chancellor of AAI-DU. He showed keen interest  in the facilities  for students.  He was  taken around the college by Prof (Dr) Ramesh Chandra. He also interacted with the university  students and  faculty  members. The programme began  with a welcome  address by  Dr Mani  Jacob. Life sketch of Dr Kurein  was read by  Dr Arif A. Broadway,  head, University  Publication  Division, and  by Prof (Dr) AQ Khan,  dean, College of  Biotechnology.

Registrar,  Prof AKA  Lawrence, read the history  of  the university  and enlightened Dr Kurein  about the  achievement  of the university  since its  inception  in 1910.

Dr Kurein  addressed the staff and  students  of the university. He spoke  from his  experience  in the cooperative setup that was so  meticulously  planned and executed  that many  nations expressed  desire  to replicate  the cooperative  system while some implemented  the  system in their  countries.
