Bora Milutinovic, the only man to coach five different teams at the World Cup, signed with the Jamaican Football Federation on Wednesday to become the next manager of the Reggae Boyz, federation president Crenston Boxhill said. Milutinovic agreed to a four-year contract which will pay him $1 million (euro780,000) a year, Boxhill said. The announcement came on the same day Jamaica played Peru to a 1-1 draw in Kingston. The Serbia-born Milutinovic arrived on Tuesday to finalise negotiations.

Milutinovic's salary will be paid by several private sector companies, Boxhill said.

The 62-year-old former coach of Mexico and the United States will replace Carl Brown, who had been in charge for the past three months.

Besides Mexico (1986) and the United States (1994), Milutinovic also coach Costa Rica (1990), Nigeria (1998) and China (2002) at the World Cup.

All except China reached the second round of the tournament. His last job as a coach of a national team was as head of Honduras, but that country failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Jamaica, which qualified for the 1998 World up in France, was eliminated in the qualifying stages for the 2002 and 2006 championships.
