A well-known wildlife enthusiast in India's northeastern state of Mizoram has offered his corpse to be left for wild animals to feed on as part of a bizarre will, court officials said Wednesday.
A spokesperson at the District Council Court in Mizoram's capital Aizawl said 46-year-old New World Laldingliana, a Christian tribal, has made a will wishing that his mortal remains be left in the forest for wild animals to eat.
"I, New World Laldingliana, have decided to give my body to wild animals when my life on earth is over as a proof of my dedication and love for them," Laldingliana said in his will.
A farmer hailing from Kawlkulh village on the outskirts of capital Aizawl, Laldingliana is a noted wildlife enthusiast having received an award for conservation of forests and wildlife from the Mizoram government in 2003.
According to local wildlife officials, Laldingliana was the man behind setting up a small sanctuary in his village, which now is home to a number of wild animals and a wide variety of bird species.
"One of my greatest wishes is to prepare a feast for wild animals with my own body," Laldingliana said. "I have the made the will without any coercion or motivation from anyone."

{{/usCountry}}Magistrate Lalbiakzama, who stamped and signed the will, said it was a "unique" deed. "I had never ever come across such a will in my career," Lalbiakzama told IANS.
