A moderate intensity tremor on Wednesday jolted the Indo-Pak border region of Jammu and Kashmir, which was devastated by a major earthquake in October 2005.

The quake, measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale, was felt at 11.19 am, the Indian Meteorological Department said.

The epicentre of the earthquake lay in border region of Jammu and Kashmir.

A massive earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale had rocked North India, Pakistan and Afghanistan on October 8, 2005, killing thousands of people and causing largescale damage to property.
