Molestation led to death of girls, no arrests made

Two school girls were crushed to death by a speeding truck when one of girl lost balance due to a molestation attempt by two youths who were chasing their Activa scooter near the official residence of Jind SP at Safido Bypass road in Jind city on Thursday afternoon. The accused truck driver managed to flee away from the spot after leaving his truck. Jatinder Kohli reports.

On the other, Jind police failed to arrest the accused truck driver and the boys who were chasing the girls even after two days of accident.

According to information available, Ankita and Shikha were students of 11th class in local private school. They were reportedly going to tuition on Activa scooter. When they reached near Jind SP house, a speeding truck hit their scooter and died on the spot. After this, the accused truck driver fled away from spot. The police had registered a case against the truck driver after taking the possession his truck and launched an investigation to nab him.

According to eyewitnesses that the two youths were chasing the girls when the girls were going on Safido road and when the girls tried to overtake a truck, one of the boy tried to touch the one of the girl on the road. Suddenly, girl lost balance over her vehicle and the girls were run over by truck.

Jind SP Ashok Kumar failed to respond the calls made to him by this correspondent. Investigation officer, sub-Inspector, Mahender Singh told to HT that investigation is still going on and no arrest has been made so far.
