Monir raped in Rewari, culprit arrested

A 8-year-old girl has been raped by a middle-aged man at Dhani Bainyawas near Dharuhera industrial town, 15kms from Rewari district on Friday night.

The accused has been identified as Kanchan, a 45-year old labourer in the industrial town of Dharuhera and belongs to Madhya Pardesh.

The victim was taken by the accused on pretext of offering her sweets to a nearby field and committed the crime around 10pm on Friday.

Victim's cries were heard by a woman identified as Harpali, a migrant labourer who was returning from her job.

She rushed to the spot, and saw the accused commiting the heinous act.

Seeing the woman on spot, Kanchan tried to escape but Harpali raised alarm and other women labourers caught the accused on the spot.

Police was informed and the accused was taken into custody.

The police has registered a rape case against him after confirmation with victim and produced him in court on Friday.

Rewari SP Bharti Arora invited the Harpali and encouraged her for extending help to the victim and gave away appreciation certificate.

Arora told media persons that police would ensure safety and encouragement for all those, who would help police in combating crime against women.
