Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Raghubir Lal said they have so far not received any requests for security from the Talwars but the additional police personnel would be provided to them inside the court complex during hearings.

Talwar was attacked on Tuesday inside the Ghaziabad court complex with a meat cleaver. He suffered serious face and hand injuries.

His attacker, Utsav Sharma, was arrested and lodged at Dasna district prison.

The SSP said Talwar was provided with one sub-inspector and four constables inside the court but he ignored the security and went ahead without the cover.

Even though the police chief claimed that 2 sub-inspectors, 2 head constables and 26 constables were deployed since January 8 inside the court, the attack on Talwar left a big question mark over alertness of security personnel at the Ghaziabad court.
