AN ELDERLY man was critically injured when by a speedily driven motorcycle hit him near a park at Manisha Market on Thursday evening.
According to information, a youth riding a motorcycle MP 04 D/4846 hit Vimal Maru, 69, a retired government officer, when he was taking a walk with his wife near the park yesterday evening.
He got dragged for a few feet and fell down. Maru was seriously injured in the head. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he remained unconscious.
The rider fled the spot soon after the mishap. Eyewitnesses said the unidentified youth was driving the two-wheeler at a fast speed. The police launched a hunt for the motorcycle rider.
