MP: 2 use fake papers for govt job, get 10 yrs jail

Two persons, including a woman, have been sentenced to ten years of rigorous imprisonment for submitting fake documents to get a government job in 2008.

Additional Session Judge Pradeep Mittal on Tuesday held Arun Chouhan (33) and Vandana (38) guilty under section 420 and 467 and sentenced them to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on each of them for submitting fake papers to get a job of a patwari (local revenue officer).

"The court found them guilty of getting job of a Patwari by appearing in selection examination in 2008 through forged documents," District People Counsel Officer, B G Sharma told reporters.

Sharma said the crime had come to light when their documents were examined before they were being sent for training. After that, their selection stood cancelled and they were dismissed from government services.
