The party on Monday suspended the newly elected chairperson Ansar Ahmed and two corporators Narendra Yadav and Manoj Rai for being part of anti-party activities. The BJP has 26 corporators in the 46-member Dewas municipal corporation.

The party had put up corporator Dilip Bangar as the official candidate for election of chairperson of the house. However, a section of BJP corporators supported corporator Ansar Ahmed for the post. Ansar received 26 votes and was declared elected while the official candidate of the party received only 12 votes.

The allegation against Tukoji Rao Puar was that he supported Ansar's candidature. In the show cause notice, the party has asked the former royal to clarify allegations of anti-party activities against him. Puar has been given a month to reply to the charges failing which disciplinary action would be taken against Puar.

Four party workers in Morena district have also been issued show cause notices for their involvement in anti-party activities. The four — Chandraprakash Sharma, Jagdish Goyal, Bhawani Singh Jadaun and Ajab Singh Sikarwar — have been asked to reply to allegations pertaining to urban bodies elections.
